Black Hills Colorado IPP, LLC, a subsidiary of Black Hills Corp., was formed to construct, own and operate independent power generation assets in Colorado.
- Black Hills Colorado IPP’s portfolio located in Pueblo, Colorado will consist of 200 MW’s of natural gas fired combined cycle generation expected to be in service by Jan. 1, 2012.
- In 2009, after winning a competitive solicitation process overseen by the Colorado Public Utilities Commission, a 20-year Purchase Power Agreement (PPA) was signed with Black Hills Energy - Colorado Electric to provide 200 MW’s of capacity and energy as the least cost option.
- Black Hills Colorado IPP’s primary customer is Black Hills Energy –Colorado Electric, serving the loads of southern Colorado communities
