Budget Billing: Our Budget Billing level payment plan is a payment option that takes seasonal peaks out of the customer natural gas bill for a more even monthly payment. This is a free service for residential customers. The customer monthly balance is calculated based on the average of the previous 12 months' actual bills.
Energy Assistance: Black Hills Cares, an energy assistance program offered through Black Hills Energy, helps customers in need pay their energy-related expenses. Contributions to Black Hills Cares are matched dollar-for-dollar by Black Hills, and funds are distributed by local assistance agencies to help qualified customers pay energy-related expenses. In Iowa, funds are distributed through Iowa Community Action Association.
Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP): LIHEAP is a federally funded program to aid qualifying low-income households pay their residential heating costs for the winter heating season.
