eBill Terms and Conditions
EBILL PAPERLESS BILLING TERMS AND CONDITIONS
During the Black Hills Corporation eBill registration process, you must read and accept the following Terms and Conditions in order to register for eBill.
If upon review of these Terms and Conditions, you decide that you want to continue to receive the monthly paper billing statement through the U.S. Mail, please do not enroll in Black Hills Corporation eBill.
Black Hills Corporation eBill allows you to stop receiving paper billing statements and to view and pay your Black Hills utility bill online. This paperless billing option is available only to customers who have registered online for Black Hills Corporation eBill. By using the eBill service, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions. If you do not accept these Terms and Conditions, Black Hills Corporation is unable to provide the eBill service to you.
Your continued use of this service thereafter represents an ongoing acceptance of the Terms and Conditions.
Please read the following Terms and Conditions carefully. Violation of these usage conditions may terminate your participation in the eBill service.
1. USER ID AND PASSWORD
For eBill, you will need to set up a User ID and Password. Black Hills Corporation is not responsible for your User ID and Password. Because you are responsible for all activities that occur using your eBill account, you are responsible for keeping your User ID and Password confidential. Black Hills Corporation is not liable for any actions, claims, costs, damages, or expenses arising from a lost, misplaced or stolen Password. If you have forgotten your Password or want to change your Password for any reason, you have the option of having the Password reset online through your account. Please notify Black Hills Corporation if any unauthorized use of your eBill account occurs.
2. NOTICES AND INFORMATION ACCURACY
Black Hills Corporation will use its best efforts to present all of your electronic bills promptly. In addition to notification on your online account page, Black Hills Corporation will send email notification to the email address registered on your account. It is your sole responsibility to ensure that this information is accurate. In the event you do not receive notification, it is your responsibility to sign in and check on the delivery of new electronic bills.
It is your responsibility to update your email address via the website or notify Black Hills Corporation immediately if your email address changes. Black Hills Corporation will then send you a "test" email, in which you will need to confirm your new address. Until you make this confirmation, Black Hills Corporation will continue to use the previously registered email address. You understand that if emails are returned as undeliverable, Black Hills Corporation reserves the right to return your billing to paper statements. You may re-enroll at any time after correcting any email address errors.
Black Hills Corporation periodically includes notices in its monthly billing statements, including, but not limited to, notices that are required by law or a regulatory agency regarding changes in your service. By selecting the paperless bill option you understand and agree that those notices will be available to you only online, and can be found in your online bill under the section titled "View/Pay Bill."
You agree to provide true and accurate information as requested in our account setup forms. You also agree not to misrepresent your identity.
3. PAYMENT TERMS AND CONDITIONS
THE BILL DATE AND THE PAYMENT DUE DATE IS THE SAME ONLINE AS WHEN YOU RECEIVE A PAPER STATEMENT. Your obligation to pay your Black Hills Corporation bill by the due date is not altered or modified in any way by stopping your paper bill. Applicable late payment fees apply, and late payment notices will be sent through U.S. Mail. Payments made via the eBill site will be reflected on your utility account within 2 business days. Applicable fees will be assessed against your utility account for any payment returned by your bank due to insufficient funds.
During the first month of your enrollment in eBill, you will receive both a paper bill and an electronic bill, along with notification that the paper bill will be the last paper bill you will receive. If your account has a past due balance, you will still receive the electronic bill as well as a paper disconnect notice.
You are responsible for ensuring timely payment of all bills. Electronic copies of your last sixteen (16) months of delivered bills are available online. For bills older than sixteen (16) months, send us an or contact customer service at .

4. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
These terms and conditions do not supersede, modify or in any way mitigate your obligation to be bound by and comply with all applicable tariffs, rules or regulations related to your service. WE MAKE NO REPRESENTATIONS OR WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND WITH RESPECT TO BLACK HILLS CORPORATION EBILL, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, WARRANTIES OR ACCURACY. WE ASSUME NO RESPONSIBILITY WITH RESPECT TO ANY USE OF BLACK HILLS CORPORATION EBILL. BLACK HILLS CORPORATION SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, INDIRECT, PUNITIVE, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OR FOR THE LOSS OF PROFIT, REVENUE, OR DATA WHICH ARISE FROM OR IS RELATED TO BLACK HILLS CORPORATION EBILL OR ANYTHING RELATED TO ONLINE BILLING BY BLACK HILLS CORPORATION. IN ADDITION, YOU INDEMNIFY AND HOLD BLACK HILLS CORPORATION HARMLESS FROM ANY ACTIONS, CLAIMS, DAMAGES, LIABILITIES, OR LOSSES ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE USE OF BLACK HILLS CORPORATION EBILL.
You agree that Black Hills Corporation will not be liable to you or any third party for any revision or discontinuation of the eBill service. Black Hills Corporation makes no warranty that the eBill service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, or that the information obtained from use of the service will be accurate. Furthermore, Black Hills Corporation does not warrant that errors in the technology will be corrected.
5. DISCONTINUING SERVICE
You may discontinue the eBill service at any time. If your eBill account is canceled or discontinued, you will receive a paper bill via U.S. mail on your next scheduled bill date, which will occur within the next 45 days. Please make sure to pay your final eBill paperless bill on the due date. You can check your current account balance at BlackHillsPower.com, CheyenneLight.com, or BlackHillsEnergy.com. Black Hills Corporation reserves the right to terminate access to any account(s) viewed in the eBill service at any time. Black Hills Corporation also reserves the right to change any terms or conditions of the eBill service at any time.
This Agreement shall be construed under the laws of the state in which you receive your service. Please print a copy of these Terms and Conditions for your records.
