Energy Efficiency FAQ
The Wyoming Public Service Commission approved our three-year Energy Efficiency Solutions Program in March 2011. The program’s goal is to help residential, commercial and industrial customers use energy more efficiently.
Specifically, the program provides you with financial incentives to install and use a variety of energy-efficient products. It also gives you the chance to better manage your monthly utility bill. And it supports our efforts to reduce electricity and natural gas use.
You can save money by better managing your monthly utility bill. In fact during this three-year period, you could save nearly 18 million kilowatts of electricity and 50,000 dekatherms of natural gas.
Customers fund the Energy Efficiency Solutions Program. The Wyoming Public Service Commission approved the surcharge amount. Starting December 2011, electric customers started seeing fee of about $0.56, and natural gas customers started to see a fee of about $0.65 per month.
These small fees can be easily offset by replacing just two 75-watt incandescent lights with compact fluorescent light bulbs.
