Whole House Efficiency Program for South Dakota and Weston County, Wyoming
An in-home energy audit can show you where you’re wasting energy
Many houses suffer from a number of problems that you might not realize are actually energy related. Energy audits help you discover where and how your home is using energy inefficiently and what you can do to eliminate wasted energy.
Benefits of completing a home energy audit include lower energy bills, improved home comfort and increased resale value.
We offer residential customers like you a Whole House Efficiency Program to raise your home’s level of energy efficiency. The program provides a home energy audit, air sealing and low-cost, easy-to-install measures.
The home energy audit will identify needed improvements to your home and provide you with a report on your home and areas to target for improvement. We will also provide you with information on energy efficiency rebates at Black Hills Energy to help offset the cost of the improvements.
The cost of the comprehensive home energy audit is $50 and includes a blower door test, infrared inspection and comprehensive report valued at $600.
Measures offered through the Whole House Efficiency program include:
- Home energy audit
- Air sealing
- 9W LEDs (up to three total)
- Faucet aerator
- Low flow showerhead
- Hot water pipe insulation
- Water heater temperature setback
- Water heater tank wrap
