Bank Transfer Terms & Conditions

Please read the following Terms and Conditions for the Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) Payment Option that is available on the Black Hills Energy website:

  1. Black Hills Energy will electronically deduct from your bank account successfully scheduled utility bill payments within two business days of the date the payment is submitted by customer through the EFT payment option located on the Black Hills Energy website. Only one pending bank debit payment transaction is allowed on your utility account at any given time.  By directing Black Hills Energy to initiate a payment, you authorize Black Hills Energy or its agent to withdraw from the banking account you designate the amount of funds required to complete the assigned transaction.  All correspondence initiated via the EFT payment option shall command the legal authority of a written request authorized by your signature. If your utility service has been disconnected, contact customer service at 888-890-5554 with your payment confirmation number to have service restored.
  2. The bank account information you provide during the EFT payment process is very important. Black Hills Energy shall not be liable for any loss of funds or information that may arise solely by reason of error, mistake, or fraud regarding this information and that may result in an unsuccessful payment attempt. Though every attempt is made to provide accurate and timely information on our website, the EFT payment option is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind, and no warranties, either express or implied, are made with respect to the EFT payment option and such information, including but not limited to any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title or non-infringement, or any other warranties that may arise from usage or trade or course of dealing. You agree that the EFT payment option is not a consumer good for purposes of federal or state warranty laws.
  3. You may revoke your authorization for an EFT by notifying Black Hills Energy. Notice must be received at least five (5) business days in advance of the date the EFT is scheduled to stop the EFT. Notice can be made in three (3) ways:
    1. If the payment was authorized via your online account, log in to your account and click on the link to stop your EFT
