GYPSUM, CO – Sept. 19, 2020 - Black Hills Energy technicians continue to respond to the natural gas incident that occurred on Thursday, September 17 in the Chatfield Corners neighborhood in Gypsum. Technicians are working today to safely restore service to 75 customers.

Black Hills Energy Colorado Gas regulatory rate review

In 2019, Black Hills Colorado Gas submitted a proposal to the Colorado Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) asking to consolidate the rates, tariffs and services of our existing gas territories in Colorado. The rate review also proposed to recover investments in safety, reliability and system integrity for natural gas service to our 192,000 Colorado customers.

Edwards-Singletree upgrade

During the 2019-20 winter, the Edwards – Singletree area experienced issues related to low-pressure in the gas system. In order to address these issues and improve system reliability, Black Hills Energy will be making several upgrades to the local system. Upgrades will include pipeline looping, a new regulator station north of I-70 and upgrades to the existing Edwards Town Border Station.
