Colorado811 put on a Mock Line Strike, and Black Hills Energy was on site to help make it a success. The event was a great opportunity to demonstrate the importance of damage prevention, as well as debut a Black Hills Energy Call Before You Dig-branded truck!

Operators, contractors, industry vendors, municipalities, public officials and emergency response agencies were all in attendance to witness the right way to excavate, from start to finish with new Colorado rules implemented, and the wrong way.

In the demonstration where there was no call to 811, participants simulated a water line strike, a high pressure gas distribution line strike, an injury as the excavator operator leapt from the equipment, and the many steps that the fire department, emergency medical services and gas emergency response teams needed to take to bring the situation under control.
