Marc Eyre named Vice President of South Dakota Electric Operations at Black Hills Energy

RAPID CITY, SD. – April 17, 2020 – Black Hills Corp. (NYSE: BKH) announced the appointment of Marc Eyre as vice president of electric operations for Black Hills Energy in South Dakota. In his new role, Eyre is responsible for all aspects of managing electric operations for Black Hills Energy in the state. Black Hills Energy serves 70,000 customers in 35 communities in South Dakota and northeast Wyoming.

“I’m very pleased that Marc will be leading our South Dakota operations,” said Nick Gardner, Black Hills Energy Vice President of Electric Utilities. “Marc has been leading the South Dakota electric organization on an interim basis since August of last year. In that time, Marc has demonstrated proven results at Black Hills Energy and is ready to take on this critical state leadership role on a permanent basis.”

Marc Eyre graduated from the University of Wyoming with a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering in 2008. Eyre began his career with Black Hills Energy in 2007 as an intern in Cheyenne, Wyoming, and joined Black Hills Energy full time in 2008 as an electrical engineer supporting Wyoming Electric, formerly known as Cheyenne Light, Fuel and Power (CLFP). Since that time, Eyre has taken on roles of increasing responsibility on both the natural gas and electric sides or our business, including supervisor of gas operations at CLFP, manager of electric operations at CLFP, and most recently, director of operations at South Dakota Electric.

Since relocating to Rapid City in 2018, Eyre has fully embraced the opportunity to engage in the Black Hills area communities. Eyre completed Leadership Rapid City in 2019, and he will soon complete Leadership South Dakota. Additionally, Marc serves on the Lead/Deadwood Economic Development Board or Directors, and he sits on the Mitchell Technical Institute Foundation Board.

Eyre will be located at Black Hills Energy Operations Center located on Deadwood Ave, Rapid City.
