With a population of just over 2,000, the town of Imperial, Nebraska, is like many of our rural communities: If you want more urban quality-of-life experiences, you have to roll up your sleeves and make it happen.
The town’s Imperial Theater, which dates back to 1925, has been remodeled by the community and upgraded with digital projection and surround sound systems. It now runs new releases each weekend, largely thanks to volunteers.
Recently the Black Hills Energy team stepped out of their service trucks and into the theater to run the box office and concessions! Without great volunteers like these guys, families in the southwest Nebraska area would have to drive up to an hour away to take in a movie on the big screen.
In addition to volunteering at the theater, these four Black Hills Energy employees serve their community as a local school board member, city councilman and volunteer firefighters.
Thank you to this awesome team for living our company values every day!
We partner with our communities and customers, providing the kind of energy that fuels those areas and the lives of those we serve. Feel free to share the stories and photos. Make sure to tag us on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter.
