Operation holiday cheer in Nebraska
airmen

Holiday celebrations will be smaller this year, limited to immediate family for many of us. Hundreds of service members at Offutt Air Force Base in Bellevue, Nebraska won’t get to see their families at all. They will, however, get a reminder that they’re appreciated!

Black Hills Energy team members joined the Greater Bellevue Area Chamber of Commerce, Offutt Advisory Council, and other local partners to fill 525 gift bags stuffed with things like Kleenex, hand sanitizer, snacks, hand-written cards from a local grade school and game books.

Chamber of Commerce members and volunteers say they’ve taken great joy in years past delivering the back packs to Airmen in the dorms. To minimize COVID-19 exposure risks this year, commanders from Offutt delivered the bags themselves. They expressed their appreciation for the Bellevue community, and said enlisted men and women always look forward to receiving the bags. This is the 21st annual Operation Holiday Cheer.

We partner with our communities and customers, providing the kind of energy that fuels those areas and the lives of those we serve. Feel free to share the stories and photos. Make sure to tag us on FacebookInstagram, LinkedIn and Twitter.

  • Our team in Sidney, Nebraska, recently awarded $15,000 toward a new all-accessible playground. The Sidney Park Project is the brainchild of a small group of community leaders who are raising money to build and maintain an all-accessible playground in the popular Legion Park. Like many communities…
  • Black Hills Energy believes in the power of giving back in our communities. Helping to create a pathway out of poverty through educational support is just one way we do it. Each year, the United Way of Northwest Arkansas holds a Fill the Bus drive for students in that community. Fill the Bus is an…
