Understanding your bill | Wyoming dual fuel

The billing summary breaks down your charges into five categories that are displayed in a simple, easy-to-read chart.

• Gas delivery: Costs to bring natural gas to your address. This includes the customer fee, which helps to cover the costs of pipelines, technology and equipment required to deliver natural gas service.
• Electric delivery: Costs to bring electricity to your address. This helps to cover the cost of powerlines, technology and equipment required to deliver electric service.
• Electric supply: Market cost of electricity. 
• Gas supply: Market cost of natural gas.
• Taxes: Local and state taxes and fees.
• Other: Credits, adjustments and other charges included in your bill.

In this section you’ll find useful safety information and specific tips to help you save energy and money. 

If paying your bill by mail, detach the bottom of the front page and include this with your check in an envelope.

The last 12 months of usage history is available to help you see how this varies throughout the year.

The monthly bill details are first shown for your account, which includes both electric and natural gas service. These charges are color-coded to match the categories shown on the monthly bill summary chart on the first page.

On additional pages, the monthly bill details are then shown separately for electric and natural gas service, and location (if applicable). Specifics about your monthly charges are shown by category and color-coded to match the monthly bill summary chart on the first page.

Managing your account online provides easy access to resources and tools, including:

• Viewing your usage and bill history.
• Starting, stopping or transferring service.
• Paying your bill or changing your payment method.
• Managing email and text alerts.
• Enrolling in programs such as Auto Pay and paperless billing.

We offer several ways to pay your bill so that you can pick the one that’s right for you.

Service and facility charge: A fixed monthly charge, separate from energy usage, that recovers a portion of fixed operating costs, such as customer accounting and services, as well as costs associated with our investments in customer-related facilities such as meters and service lines.

 Base Delivery charge (Distribution Charge): A volumetric charge, based on energy usage, that recovers a portion of fixed operating cost associated with investments in energy production and delivery facilities such as generation facilities and distribution lines.

Base Energy charge (Power Cost): Energy charges are the estimated cost per kWh for electricity used at the customer’s premise during the billing cycle.

Power cost adjustment (PCA): This volumetric (per kWh) charge reconciles the difference between the power costs actually incurred and those that are included in the customer’s base energy charge.

Transmission Cost Adjustment Mechanism (TCAM): TCAM charges are the cost per kWh for transmission service to deliver electricity to the customer’s premise during the billing cycle.

*Demand side management (DSM): This charge recovers the costs associated with providing energy efficiency programs authorized by the Wyoming Public Service Commission (PSC). *Note, Cheyenne only

Blockchain Customer Credit Adjustment (BCCA):  A volumetric (per kWh) credit provided to customers for Blockchain customers use of the electric system.

Carbon Capture Compliance Surcharge: This surcharge is authorized by the Commission and Wyoming Statute § 37-18-102(c)(iii) to recover incremental costs to comply with the reliable and dispatchable low-carbon energy standard. (Wyo. Stat. §. 37-18-101 and § 37-18-102).

Customer charge: A fixed monthly charge, separate from energy usage, that recovers a portion of fixed operating costs, such as customer accounting and services, as well as costs associated with our investments in customer-related facilities such as meters and service lines. 

Volumetric charge: This volumetric charge (per therm) is based on your natural gas usage and recovers costs associated with delivering natural gas to your home through the pipeline system.

Revenue Adjustment Mechanism: This volumetric adjustment (per therm) is used to true-up any differences in actual costs and revenues for use of the gas system and is typically reflected as a credit on customer bills.

Energy efficiency (EE) surcharge: This volumetric charge (per therm) recovers the cost associated with providing energy efficiency programs as authorized by the Wyoming Public Service Commission (PSC).

*Gas cost adjustment (GCA):  This volumetric charge recovers the actual cost of gas used at a customer premise.

*Note, only customers taking service at the regulated GCA rate will see this charge. Customers that have selected a Choice Gas Supplier for their gas supply will have a different line item on their bill.

WY Integrity Rider: The Wyoming Integrity Rider pays for investments that improve system safety and reliability.

Franchise fee, county and state sales tax: Fees and taxes collected and paid to the city, county and/ or state based on city, county, and state laws.
