PUEBLO, Colo. – Sept. 23, 2021 – During National Drive Electric Week, Sept. 25 through Oct. 3, Black Hills Energy is giving customers a sneak peek at its Ready EV rebate program for electric vehicle chargers, the company announced today.

“With customer demand for electric vehicles growing, we’re getting ready to roll out a new rebate program that will help make owning an EV more convenient and more affordable,” said Nick Wagner, Black Hills Energy’s vice president of Regulatory Affairs and Policy. “Our program, called Ready EV, will significantly lower the cost of electric vehicle charging equipment for customers and help expand the commercial infrastructure needed to make EV charging more accessible to drivers.”

“This comprehensive plan, now pending final approval by the Colorado Public Utilities Commission, will reduce the cost to customers of home charging equipment through residential rebates ranging from $500 to $1,000,” said Wagner. “Charging rebates up to $3,000 will be available for business customers with additional rebates available for commercial customers who install fast charging equipment for public use.

Other components of the Ready EV program include rate options to help customers save on their energy bills and community partnerships to provide access to public transportation options.

“We’ll be sharing all of the details about Ready EV in just a few weeks, so stay tuned,” continued Wagner. “With so many more electric vehicle options available today and the technological advancements that go along with them, we’re going to see a significant jump in EVs on the road in the next few years. With Ready EV, we’re here to support our customers and community as the popularity of EVs grow in Southern Colorado.”
