Working with over two dozen nonprofit community partners, Black Hills Cares helped over 2,300 families in need with energy assistance in 2018.

9+ MILLION GALLONS OF STORM WATER FILTERED

Invested in planting almost 2,400 trees which will grow to filter over 9 million gallons of storm water and avoid 3.7 million pounds of carbon.

Employees gave over $487,000 plus a 25% match from Black Hills Corporation Foundation to benefit 50 different United Way organizations across 7 states.

Shared nearly 7,500 energy efficiency kits with school children to teach energy conservation.

$1.05 BILLION DIRECT ECONOMIC IMPACT

We make an estimated direct annual impact of approximately $1.05 billion in the communities we serve. This includes franchise fees, contributions, compensation for our more than 2,800 employees, payments to suppliers and property, sales and use taxes paid in 2018.
