Nebraska team piles up pounds for pantries
food pantry donation

During the month of June, Nebraska employees partnered with regional news outlet KOLN/KGIN and local food pantries for a statewide food drive. The Can Care-A-Van celebrated its 36th year of collecting food items throughout Nebraska, with an enormous total collection statewide of 132,618 pounds. Our Nebraska team was proud to be a major sponsor for this annual event.

Ambassadors and team members throughout the state helped support drive efforts, collecting food for both Can Care-A-Van sites or their local food pantries.

Our team in Columbus led the way with a whopping 530 pounds of food collected at their office, with the total collected in their town for the Can Care-A-Van at 21,203 pounds! The town of Sutton brought in 7,896 pounds while the town of Aurora stacked up 20,878 pounds, and the town of York piled up 8,269 pounds. Seward, Geneva, Crete, Beatrice, Ord, Ainsworth, Lexington and Neligh were additional Can Care-A-Van sites in our communities.

The Kearney office delivered over 50 pounds as well as cash donations to the Kearney Community Action Food Bank while the Cozad office also gave several boxes to the Lexington Food Pantry.

We partner with our communities and customers, providing the kind of energy that fuels those areas and the lives of those we serve. Feel free to share the stories and photos. Follow us on FacebookInstagram, LinkedInTwitter, YouTube, and Pinterest for more!
