Colorado Gas team trains more than 100 firefighters
training

Fighting a natural gas fire comes with its own set of challenges.

To help mitigate those challenges, Colorado Gas team members in La Junta and Burlington presented fire demonstrations and led hands-on exercises on natural gas fires for more than 100 firefighters from 18 towns across the region. The exercises were led by Black Hills Energy safety professional, Arlen.

For many of the participants, this was their first experience with a natural gas fire. It’s important that all firefighters understand the best way to contain such a blaze. The trainings give firefighters a chance to practice techniques on containing natural gas fires in a controlled environment. It also helps them to understand the characteristics of natural gas.

Thank you to all the employees who volunteered to make the trainings a success and contribute to the safety of the communities we serve.

We partner with our communities and customers, providing the kind of energy that fuels those areas and the lives of those we serve. Feel free to share the stories and photos. Make sure to tag us on FacebookInstagram, LinkedIn and Twitter.
