When the village of Funk, Nebraska, lost its school, they thought the town may also slowly disappear. However, much like all great movements, a small group of citizens came together to keep the town and school spirit alive by repurposing the building.
Today the classrooms serve as a business incubator housing a handful of new commercial ventures. The kitchen can be rented as a certified commercial kitchen and the gym and cafeteria hold community events and can be rented for private occasions.
The local Black Hills Energy team was happy to make a contribution toward the new flooring in the historic building, helping to keep it a community hub full of Funk spirit.
We partner with our communities and customers, providing the kind of energy that fuels those areas and the lives of those we serve. Feel free to share the stories and photos. Follow us on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube, and Pinterest for more!
