Helping local students shine bright in Iowa
shine

Employees from the Council Bluffs facility volunteered their personal energy at the United Way of the Midlands’ Shine Bright event in August.

Every child deserves to feel confident and ready to learn at school, however, for many this is not the case. Thousands of local students across the Omaha-Council Bluffs metro lack essential hygiene items like soap, shampoo, conditioner, clean clothes and dental products. When a child is lacking essential hygiene items, it impacts their health, academics and confidence.

Shine Bright is a part of United Way’s GOOD on the Go – Care Kits for Kids, a fundraiser in partnership with Omaha and Council Bluffs Public Schools where Shine Bright Boxes are provided to local students who need them most. This project helps kindergarten, middle and high school students who are lacking essential hygiene items.

The Council Bluffs team participated in the event by helping put together Shine Bright Boxes. This year’s event provided over 5,000 boxes full of items kids need to feel good and succeed in the classroom and in life.

We partner with our communities and customers, providing the kind of energy that fuels those areas and the lives of those we serve. Feel free to share the stories and photos. Make sure to tag us on FacebookInstagram, LinkedIn and Twitter.
