Polk grandstand gets facelift in Nebraska
polk

Led by a lifelong community volunteer, the Village of Polk in central Nebraska is working hard to revitalize its 100-year-old bandstand. Positioned in the center of town, the grand bandstand was once the center of entertainment and gatherings. Sadly, over the years, the bandstand has fallen into disrepair and is in desperate need of a facelift.

Through the hard work of the Bandstand Revitalization Committee and its leader, Karen Stevens, the project has raised more than $30,000, including a $2,500 donation from Black Hills Energy Corp. Foundation, to renovate the bandstand and return it to its former glory.

Once the project is completed, the town plans to hold a wide array of community events once again at the bandstand including band concerts, speakers, outdoor library activities, holiday and special community functions. The group hopes that the project will also promote future interest in Main Street and generate new interest in the village.

We’re proud to be a part of this great community project!
