Our shared goal is reducing emissions

Electrification is a method to achieving the goal of reducing carbon emissions, but it’s not the best path for Americans. Sustainably reducing greenhouse gas emissions will require partnership among clean energy sources like renewables and natural gas, smart use of our country’s infrastructure and careful consideration of the impact to Americans.

We’re putting our words into action

    • We’re committed to a highly efficient and reliable gas distribution system that achieves Net Zero emissions by 2035. We will achieve this target through ongoing infrastructure investment, damage prevention and integration of low carbon fuels. Learn more about our pathway to Net-Zero GHG Emissions.
    • We are investing in renewable energy. We partner with municipalities and businesses to capture methane emitting from sewage treatment plants and landfills and turn that methane into usable natural gas then inject it into our pipelines as renewable natural gas. We are continually looking to invest in new technologies like hydrogen, carbon capture and battery storage. Learn more about renewable natural gas.
    • In addition to providing natural gas across six states, we also generate and distribute electricity. We have achieved a more than one-third decrease in our electric utility greenhouse gas emissions since 2005 and have a clear path to meet our future reduction goals of 40% by 2030 and 70% by 2040.

We are ready to deliver the most cost-effective, reliable, and safe energy to our customers based on their needs and desires

    • That means leveraging our team of gas supply experts to purchase natural gas at the best-possible price.
    • With so many things impacting our customers’ household budgets, our goal is to help you use less energy through conservation and energy efficiency projects. We provide easy tips — like lowering the thermostat by a couple of degrees and closing curtains to keep warm air inside — to rebates for projects like insulating the attic or installing weather-stripping around doors and windows to keep out drafts.
    • We offer payment options like budget billing for customers, to level out seasonal peaks and valleys while also providing support for energy assistance programs
