Team member supports St. Jude in Norfolk, Nebraska
nebraska

For four years, Norfolk Service Specialist Jay has volunteered his time staffing the phone bank for the annual St. Jude radiothon in Norfolk, Nebraska. Previously, he did this as part of his role with the fire reserves, but this year he was joined by Operations Supervisor Danny and Construction Coordinator Cully.

As a long-time community partner for US92 radio, we also helped to raise awareness in the community by sponsoring the Avengers superhero who visited local businesses and spread cheer across town to help raise funds for St. Jude.

"It is very humbling to do this. When I volunteered on Feb. 24, with the fire reserves, one call I received was from a parent that had lost his son to cancer. In his voice I could feel the emotion when he called in to renew his donations in memory of his son. The first day’s total of the radiothon was $106,613 which was behind on the previous year. The total for the entire event was $276,518. This was the biggest 2-day total to date since 2001 when US92 started. I just want to send a big thank you to Black Hills Energy for the opportunities this company believes in making a difference for anyone or anything and always being ready to serve,” said Jay.
