K-9 teams train at our South Dakota location
k9

Partnership is a core value for us and it’s key to our success in the communities we serve.

When the Rapid City, South Dakota, Police Department asked about possible training opportunities at our Deadwood Avenue service center in Rapid City, the answer was an easy, “Yes!”

After coordination with our physical security team, the RCPD recently conducted search and tracking training at the service center using officers and their four-legged K-9 counterparts. Training included tracking scent trails and suspicious person trailing across the landscape of our operations property.

With just a whiff of a scent trail, K-9 officers and their handlers can track lost persons, missing or stolen objects or suspected illegal drugs and other materials. Successful tracks result in the ultimate high payoff reward for the dogs: a toy and high-energy praise from their handler.

The K-9 teams recertify each year to ensure top performance and quality service to our community. The opportunity to provide new ground for training not only benefits the officers, but also strengthens the relationships we have with our first responders and the safety of customers.

We’re proud of the local partnerships we have in the communities we serve!

We partner with our communities and customers, providing the kind of energy that fuels those areas and the lives of those we serve. Feel free to share the stories and photos. Make sure to tag us on FacebookInstagram, LinkedIn and Twitter.
